Our Trustees

The Bendigo Health Foundation Charitable Trust is classified as a Public Ancillary Fund by the Australian Tax Office.

The Trustees for the Bendigo Health Foundation Charitable Trust oversee the distribution of funds and focus on the diligent management of the funds received into Bendigo Health Foundation.

Funds from the Foundation do not contribute to operating costs, our focus is on the purchase of specialised equipment, programs/projects and to support the education of our staff.

Our Trustees

Hamish Hope
Chair | Trustee since 2009

Hamish is the principal of Bendigo law firm Monotti & Hope Lawyers. He is committed to the efficient and well targeted application of the community’s kindly given funds to help Bendigo Health and its staff to provide the community with the best possible healthcare.

Garry Quinn
Trustee since 2008

Garry is a barrister and solicitor and has been practising in Bendigo since moving here from Melbourne in 1978. His area of court work is Child Protection in the Bendigo Childrens Court. He is the Chairperson of the Bendigo Art Gallery and shares his passion for the arts and his legal experience with Bendigo Health through his involvement as a trustee of the Bendigo Health Care Group Foundation Charitable Trust. He is a former Board member of the Bendigo Health Care Group and sees his involvement with the Foundation as a way he is able to continue to assist Bendigo Health in its provision of health care to the greater Bendigo region.

Robin Munro
Trustee since 2008

Robin came to Bendigo in 1978 as a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and has held an appointment at the Bendigo Hospital as a consultant ever since.

When a foundation to co-ordinate fundraising and its distribution was first founded in 1991, Robin believed that a way to assist would be to volunteer as a trustee and he has remained a trustee ever since. He says it is a privilege to support the community in this small way.

Robin enjoyes spending his time with "a round of golf and tinkering with old cars".

Bendigo Health Foundation Funding Round Grants

Close to $170,000 has been committed to specialised equipment and programs through the 2020 Bendigo Health Foundation Funding Round Grants. The grants program helps us support Bendigo Health’s staff by funding a range of initiatives that improve patient experience.

It is often the “little things” that create big impact, along with important equipment to support vital healthcare.
