Bendigo Health’s 2020 Dry July campaign has been an overwhelming success. Fundraising results from the campaign are up more than 400 percent on last year, reaching $177,613 by August 11.
Bendigo Health’s Fundraising & Foundation Manager, Rachel Mason said Bendigo Health has been participating in Dry July since 2013, with $440,000 received prior to the 2020 campaign. “It was difficult to know what to expect from the campaign this year,” Mrs Mason said.
“We have been astonished that our participants and generous donors helped raise more than $75,000 by the end of July, which was close to double what was raised last year. A pledge by an incredible anonymous donor saw a further $100,000 donated to the campaign, which in an amazing result.”
All funds raised, along with further contributions anticipated from the Dry July Foundation will help fund Bendigo Health’s Cancer Centre Wellness Program, our Cancer Wellness Coordinator, Jenna Sing, and the establishment of a dedicated Wellness Centre within the hospital precinct.
The Fundraising & Foundation Team would like to thank everyone who participated, donated or supported someone who went dry during July to help us achieve this incredible target.
Donations remain open until the end of August 2020. Find out more at www.dryjuly.com/bendigo
