For Kate Mannix and the AFS team, virtual fundraising during lockdown has brought them closer together.
The team took part in the 2020 Move for Mental Health Fundraiser – a month-long exercise and challenge designed to raise funds for the improvement of mental health facilities, services and therapies provided by Bendigo Health across the region.
The 42 participants in the AFS team raised a combined $14,802.
Kate, AFS Chief Executive Officer, said the challenge generated a lot of enthusiasm among her team who were not seeing each other due to the lockdown.
“What we saw in our team, we didn’t expect to see that benefit. People really embraced it, set themselves various challenges, put themselves out of their comfort zones,” she said.
“The fundraising has obvious external benefits for the wider community but it’s also had a positive impact on our team. We encourage other corporate teams to get involved next year.”
